The Greensburg Hempfield Area Library is pleased to offer “Introduction to American Sign Language” in partnership with the Center for Deaf and Hearing Services Inc. This four-week class is for children ages 7-12. Our instructor, local Deaf college student, Hannah Ahearn, will teach us basics of how to communicate using American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture. Children will be able to borrow a free textbook from the library for the duration of the class. Since we will be building on skills learned, weekly participation is important, so please only register if you are able to commit to attending at least 3 of the 4 sessions. This virtual program will be held via Zoom. You must include your email when you sign up. The library will email you a link to participate in the program via Zoom. Families will be notified about when to pick up materials for this program.
