A living fossil is an organism that hasn’t changed much in the millions of years it’s been around. Living fossils have found stability with little need to adjust to the changing world. Crinoids, commonly known as sea lilies, or feather stars, are echinoderms. They are related to the much more commonly known starfish, sea urchins, and sand dollars. They have been around for 480 million years, and other than a few experimental forms, have remained mostly unchanged.
