Children are invited to practice reading aloud to dogs on the second Friday of each month from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Dog Reading Pals program is designed to help emerging readers gain confidence by reading aloud to a non-judgmental dog pal. Pre-readers are welcome too! All participants in this program are required to wear masks. Masks will be provided to participants who do not have a mask. To help ease the traffic flow for this program and ensure that all children have time to read to a dog, the library will be taking sign-ups in 15 minute slots between 4:00-5:00pm. Registration slots will be limited based on the number of dogs and volunteer handlers expected to attend. Children who sign-up will be given first priority, though walk-ins will also be welcome!
