The Greensburg Hempfield Area Library is pleased to offer once again “Introduction to American Sign Language” in partnership with the Center for Deaf and Hearing Services Inc. This eight-week class is for anyone age 13 and older. Our instructor, local Deaf college student, Hannah Ahearn, will teach us basics of how to communicate using American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture. Participants will be able to borrow a textbook for the duration of the class and must return it when class is finished. Since we will be building on skills learned, weekly participation is important, so please only register if you are able to commit to attending at least 7 of the 8 sessions. This virtual program will be held via Zoom. You must include your email when you sign up. The library will email you a link to participate in the program via Zoom. Participants will be notified about when to pick up their borrowed textbook from the library.
